RESULTS NASEY Competitive entrance examination Cameroon
Created in 1971, the École Nationale Supérieure Polytechnique (ENSP), one of the most prestigious establishments of higher technological education in sub-Saharan Africa, has, thanks to Decree No. 2020/275 of May 11, 2020, changed its name. [now called École Nationale Supérieure Polytechnique de Yaoundé (ENSPY)] and was reorganized administratively and academically. Grande Ecole with a scientific, technological and professional vocation of the University of Yaoundé I, the ENSPY has the following missions:
- the training of engineers and senior executives in the engineering professions;
- the promotion of research in its fields of training;
- development support in the form of service delivery.
When it was created, two kinds of training had been set up at the ENSP: one called short training, lasting three years, culminating in a works engineer diploma and the other called long training, for a period of five years, culminating in a degree in design engineering. Originally, the specialties were in short training: Electronics, Electromechanics, Automation and Civil Engineering and in long training Civil Engineering, Electromechanics.
Since 1991, the ENSP has stopped with the short training and only kept the long training. The first two years of the engineering training cycle offer students a basic education in mathematics, physical sciences and computer science. The next three years train students in a trade.
Thanks to the aforementioned decree, which His Excellency Paul BIYA, President of the Republic, Head of State, kindly took on May 11, 2020:
- ENSPY now has a Board of Directors (chaired by the Rector of the University of Yaoundé I, assisted by representatives of certain members of the government, professional orders by functional sector within it, representatives of employers' associations and a Consular Chamber) and a Directorate made up of four divisions, two centres, a cell, two services directly attached to the Director and an infirmary;
- ENSPY now includes two training courses: the Engineering training course branching off to the Engineering diploma and the Engineering Sciences training course, the diplomas prepared for which are those of a Bachelor's degree in Engineering Sciences, a Master's degree in Engineering Sciences and Doctorate or PhD in Engineering Sciences:
- The engineering training course at ENSPY, accredited by the CTI (Commission des Titres d'Ingénieur) since 2017, consists in training professionals called upon to pose, study and efficiently solve complex engineering problems of the dimensions multiple, in particular by designing products and processes with innovative means , by directing the realization and implementation of the whole, and by taking into account social, environmental and economic factors. To do this, they need not only technical knowledge, but also economic, social, environmental and human knowledge based on a solid scientific and general culture.
- While the training course in Engineering Sciences at the ENSPY, based on the LMD (Bachelor-Master-Doctorate) and accredited by the HCERES (High Council for the Evaluation of Research and Higher Education) , train very high-level scientists in disciplines related to engineering professions and whose activities are centered, not on fundamental research, but on applied research.
It should be noted that since June 1971, the School has undergone the following changes:
- From 80% of expatriate teachers when it was created to more than 80% of local teachers at present;
– From 02 study cycles at the start to 03 cycles currently;
– From 03 specialties at creation to 06 currently;
– The reception capacity has increased.
The new courses have been created within the institution since the start of the 2018-2019 academic year: these are: "Digital Arts" and "Digital Humanities". These courses have the particularity of welcoming young holders of a literary baccalaureate. However, the School is reputed to only admit scientists, for an engineering course. On this subject, Professor Remy Magloire Etoua, the Director of the university institution reassures: “It will be an absolutely parallel training compared to that of engineers. Classes here and there are not alike; same for the profile. In detail, the “Digital Arts” sector refers to any art produced using digital devices (computers, interfaces, networks). This gives the possibility of three paths: 2D and 3D design, Graphics and Multimedia, Animation, Video games,...
In "Digital Humanities", learners will receive notions of strategic management of knowledge and information, multimedia communication, economic and legal and legal engineering and cyber space. For the first two years, students in these new courses will follow common core courses. They will then have the opportunity to specialize.
The Meteorology sector
The meteorology sector trains engineers from a competition launched by the Minister of Public Service with a view to direct integration. To access it, the candidate must absolutely have either a degree in Mathematics or in Physics or Computer Science. Those admitted enter directly into the 3rd year for a three-year course. The professions offered are: atmospheric science and basic sciences. The sector is in its third promotion. The first is that of the competition launched in 2016 and therefore the results came out in 2017. It had 15 students, the 2nd which had 10 students is that of 2018, as for the 3rd, she arrived in early January 2019 and has 10 students in this sector benefiting from academic and professional internships at ASECNA. It was the main partner in this sector at the ENSP.
The High Tech 3D Printing
Center This is a center equipped with high technology equipment. This multipurpose equipment will allow young engineers to: carry out rapid prototyping, manufacture of mechanical parts, manufacture of various prostheses. The center also serves as a model manufacturing center in the health sector and also plays a role in assisting doctors in surgery: it also serves as a design office.
The e-learning
room This is a room equipped with machines enabling students in a different field to study in e-learning, that is to say directly with a teacher who is abroad. For civil engineering students, these machines allow them to practice in the construction of bridges, roads, transportation systems, environmental studies. They also allow them to develop drinking water resources and wastewater treatment.
The Laboratories
The ENSPY has 05 research laboratories partly financed by national and international contracts, and by research and development contracts with local companies:
– The CURES (University Research Center on Energy for Health)
C t is a joint laboratory of ENSPY, the Ecole Nationale Supérieure Polytechnique de Montréal and the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne. Its mission is to analyze the typology of energy problems in hospitals, to study their causes and to propose appropriate and adapted solutions that can have an impact and at an affordable cost
-The HIGH TECH CENTER: It is a unique technological complex in the sub-region. It is a set of new generation laboratories, used for practical work in the various sectors as well as for research work.
– LABORIMA (Laboratory of Computer Science and Applied Mathematics): Its research areas are: (…)
– The HIGH TECH 3D PRINTING CENTER: it is a center equipped with high-tech equipment. This multipurpose equipment will allow young engineers to: Carry out rapid prototyping, the manufacture of mechanical parts, the manufacture of various prostheses. The center is also a manufacturing center for models in the health sector and plays a role in assisting physicians in surgery: it serves as a design office.
– The TECHNIPOLE SUP-VALOR : it is a relevant business incubator whose mission is to support the implementation of business creation ideas initiated by students and graduates.
– The Library (physical): it has an entire building of 03 ultra-equipped levels. It provides students and teachers with nearly 5,000 specialized works.
– Digital libraries : Cyberlibris and Elsevier.
